Vincent continues to lead the company’s expansion across Europe, bringing a wealth of experience with his extensive background of over 20 years in senior and c-suite level management in the areas of finance and operations, including M&A, project finance and capital market transactions across listed and private companies. Vincent has predominantly worked in the public markets as CEO or CFO of OTC listed companies and as a consultant to others involving M&A, spin outs and corporate restructuring. Vincent also founded a couple of technology start-ups that became leaders in their respective fields and previously held the position of Head of Procurement with Esat Telecom Group, Ireland’s premier competitive telecom operator, quoted on NASDAQ. Given his experience, Vincent brings to Alternus an entrepreneurial, innovative mindset crafting the way forward to the success the company has achieved to date. Vincent holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from University College Dublin and is also a contributor in the commercialization of research and technology projects with the Technology and Enterprise Campus at Trinity College Dublin.
John P. Thomas has been a director of the company since 2017. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Doonbeg Group Inc., an advisory and merchant banking firm based in New York. John is an accomplished Senior Executive with core skill sets of leadership, strategic, and operational management in an international environment. He has significant expertise in international trade and finance with proven success in the transportation, defense, and infrastructure industries with an emphasis in emerging markets. John is a former U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer having served in West Africa and Micronesia. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration and International Marketing from Manhattan College, New York.
John McQuillan is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in Ireland. He trained with KPMG. John worked as Financial Controller of the ESB Group Network Business before starting his own practice in 2005. His practice worked primarily in the energy and regulated sectors in addition to audit, assurance and accounting services to a wide range of clients in the SME sector, including professional and financial services. He is currently Chief Financial Officer of Homecare Direct and a non-executive director in a range of industries in the leasing, accounting, utilities and consumer goods industries. He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin.
Tone joined the Alternus Energy board in 2021.Residing in Oslo, she is a full-time portfolio non-executive chair of boards and board member. Ms. Bjørnov worked with DNB, Norway’s largest financial institution, for twenty years, primarily with large corporate clients in Oslo and London and as Head of Investor Relations at the Oslo Headquarters. Since 2006, she has worked as a portfolio non-executive director in several Scandinavian companies across various sectors from banking and financial institutions to shipping, real estate, media, biotech and aquaculture. She has chaired multiple Board committees including risk, audit and nomination in listed companies. Her present board positions include Atlantic Sapphire ASA, Aqua Bio Technology ASA, Filmparken AS and Varmeog Bad AS. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Oslo and an undergraduate degree from BI Norwegian Business School.
Javade joined the Alternus Energy board in 2022. Based in Washington and currently Of Counsel with Jones Day, he advises companies on domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, and strategic alliances as well as corporate governance, compliance, and internal investigations. He was previously the partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s Middle East & Africa region. Prior to that he was the General Counsel for Sempra Energy and Gateway Computers. He serves on several non-profit and advisory boards, including the University of California Global Policy & Strategy School, the US-Asia Institute, the Institute of the Americas, the Yale International Alliance, and the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. He holds a BSc & MSc in Environmental Science from Yale University and a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University.
